Maribor, April 2019 From Friday 12th to Sunday 14th April, the Union Hall in Maribor will once again host the prestigious Gallus International Choral Competition – Maribor 2019, which takes place every two years and is known globally as one of the toughest competitions of its kind. The winner will go on to qualify for the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing held in July 2020 in Debrecen, Hungary. Only one week untill The 15th International Choral Competition Gallus – Maribor 2019 begins! All the information about the competition rules, schedule, choirs and their programmes, jury etc. is also available in the programme booklet.
Two weeks from today The 15th International Choral Competition Gallus – Maribor 2019 will take place in Maribor, Slovenia. 3 vocal groups, 2 choirs of equal voices and 8 mixed choirs from Basque Country/Spain, Germany, Hong Kong/China, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Russia, Slovenia and USA will participate. Each will present opening, compulsory and free program. Choirs with five top scores will than perform for the Grand Prix and participation at the European Grand prix for choral singing finale in Debrecen, Hungary, in July 2020. The organization is satisfied for the great success of attendance, with all the sessions in competition sold out within a few hours of putting the tickets on sale. Among the public, as well as Basques, there were people not only from all over Spain but also people who came from the Philippines, France, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Italy, Portugal, etc. In the artistic chapter, it has been a huge success with the most spectacular participation in the history of the competition.
