The Béla Bartók International Choir Competition Debrecen 2020 – CANCELLED

The Municipality of Debrecen together with the management of the Béla Bartók International Choir Competition had to make the unavoidable decision to cancel this year's event planned to be held between 8-12th July 2020 in Debrecen, Hungary. We would like to offer all choirs who have been selected for the 2020 competition, to qualify automatically for the next event which will be organized in July 2022  (BBCC is held bi-annually). The University of Houston Concert Chorale is the winner of BBCC 2018

The choir is the University of Houston’s premiere large choral ensemble, which consists primarily of undergraduate students. During the school year, Chorale sings 10 - 12 performances, with a repertoire from very early to recently-composed music. Chorale singers are busy making and directing music outside of the ensemble as well. Many Chorale singers are also active in the University of Houston's excellent opera program and many serve as staff singers in local church choirs.
