Imusicapella is a church choir based at the Our Lady of the Pillar Parish (Imus Cathedral) and St. Peregrine Chapel in Imus City, Province of Cavite in the Philippines. It is founded in 2002 by Tristan Caliston Ignacio. In a span of 23 years, Imusicapella has embarked in several international tours in Europe, Asia and North America. They have won prizes in some the of world’s most prestigious international choral competitions. The most recent achievement is winning the Grand Prizes at the 29th Béla Bartók International Choir Competition 2024 in Debrecen, Hungary and at the 7th International Baltic Sea Choir Competition 2024 in Jūrmala Latvia. They were the recipient of the “General Licerio Topacio Special Award” for being an outstanding group of the city of Imus. They were a 7-time recipient of the Harvest of Honors Award by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. Imusicapella has the purpose to promote, advance and uphold Philippine culture in the country and internationally through an abiding commitment to choral excellence. They have become steadfast in their goal of attaining choral distinction and recognition as one of the Philippines’ finest vocal ensembles.

International Baltic Sea Choir Competition 2024

*Since the winner of Jūrmala, Imusicapella Chamber Choir, already won the Grand Prix in Debrecen, the second choir at the Grand Prix of the city of Jūrmala will represent the International Baltic Sea Choir Competition at the European Grand Prix.

Since its founding in 1998 choir “Sōla” of the Latvian Academy of Culture has actively and regularly participated in various competitions and concerts both in Latvia and abroad. Several recordings have also been made, the most recent of which can be found on the Spotify platform. The choir has collaborated with representatives from many different fields, thereby creating and maintaining a diverse repertoire.

Los Cantantes de Manila (LCDM) is a community choir established in 2014 in Manila, Philippines. Led by its conductor Darwin Vargas, their international acclaim includes top prizes in Hungary, Italy, Russia, Spain, the Netherlands, South Korea, Singapore, Germany, and the Philippines. In 2024, the choir won the coveted Grand Prix in the 72nd Concorso Polifonico Internazionale Guido D’Arezzo in Arezzo, Italy. They also won the First Prize in the Compulsory, Sacred, and Secular categories. As cultural ambassadors, LCDM has received the prestigious Ani ng Dangal award four times, showcasing their commitment to promoting Filipino musical heritage globally.

Kamēr… is a Latvian mixed youth choir based in Riga, Latvia, founded in 1990 by Māris Sirmais. A winner of multiple national and international prizes and awards. Kamēr… became the first and currently the only choir in the world having won the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing three times (2004, 2013, and 2019). The choir performs in various events both in Latvia and worldwide, and collaborates with renowned composers, musicians and orchestras. Since June 2022, the artistic director and chief conductor of the choir is Jurģis Cābulis. The second conductor of Kamēr… is Patriks Kārlis Stepe. The former artistic directors are its founder Māris Sirmais (1990-2012), Jānis Liepiņš (2012-2018) and Aivis Greters (2018-2022). The choir has two vocal coaches: Ansis Sauka, who works with the choir since its founding in 1990, and Jolanta Strikaite-Lapiņa, who joined our choir family in 2016, after the retirement of Aina Bajāre. Ansis works mostly with the male voices, and Jolanta with the female voices.

The Resonanz Children’s Choir (TRCC) is an award-winning children’s choir from Jakarta, Indonesia. It was founded in 2007 by Avip Priatna Mag. Art., and is part of the Resonanz Music Studio (TRMS), which also manages the Batavia Madrigal Singers (BMS) and the Jakarta Concert Orchestra (JCO). Since 2012, TRCC has been winning choir competitions around the world. One of the most highlighted ones is winning the 2018 European Grand Prix for Choral Singing (EGP). EGP is known to be the most competitive, challenging and respected international choral competition in Europe. To successfully become a winner of the EGP, a choir must achieve being a grand champion of one of the competitions allied with the EGP and then, in the following year, compete and win against all other grand champions from the other European international choir competitions. Following winning the grand champion of the 2017 Tolosa choral contest, TRCC won the 2018 EGP. Now the next generation of TRCC is being groomed. Recent achievements include winning two competition categories: children’s and folklore categories, at the 2022 Bali International Choral Festival. In addition, TRCC recently also won the grand champion of the 2023 Leonardo da Vinci International Choral Festival in Florence, Italy. In this competition, TRCC also won the children’s choir and Popular & Folk categories and received a special award for best choreography.
