From August 22 to 26, the International Polyphonic Competition Guido d’Arezzo returns to Arezzo for its 71st edition: six days of concerts, competitions, workshops, and in-depth exploration of the world of choral music on an international level.

This year too, there’s renewed international interest in the event, as evidenced by the participation of 13 choirs in the competition:

A week of concerts, competitions, conferences, and masterclasses with a focus on the world of choral music will take place at the following venues:

Wednesday, August 23, at 3:30 PM, and Thursday, August 24, at 9 AM, Teatro Pietro Aretino International Conference of Studies, “Heritage and Perspectives of Contemporary A Cappella Choral Music” organized by the Guidoniani Study Center of the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation

9 PM – Chiesa San Domenico, opening concert by the KGBL Choir (Slovenia), awarded “Best Choir” and “Best Conductor” at the International Competition in Hong Kong, conducted by Maestro Ambrož Čopi.

7 PM: Award ceremony.
