With a very high score of 95.20%, Mixed Choir of Riga Cathedral Choir School from Latvia was unrivalled in all categories. This Latvian choir took home five top trophies, including the most important one, the Kutxa Grand Prix and the nomination for the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing, in which the winning choirs in the best European competitions will participate next year. It was also the winner of the Audience Award and the Best Interpretation of a Basque Song.

With a historical score above the maximum possible, far above all their rivals, the Latvians have been near perfection. In the Chamber Choir-Polyphony section, they took first prize, followed by the Swedish Storkyrkans Chamber Choir and the French Mikrokosmos in third place. In the folklore category, the same order as in the polyphony category was repeated, with the Latvians in first place, the Swedes in second and the French in third.

The children also did an excellent job in this edition, with The Resonanz Children’s Choir from Indonesia coming in first place and obtaining the second highest score (93.6%) of the competition, second place to the World Vision Korea Children’s Choir from Korea and third place to the Latvian Children’s Choir Lielvarde.

The closing ceremony was dedicated to the memory of Antxon Elosegui, who passed away last June, founder of the organizing entity, CIT, and one of the main creators of the choral competition.
The Tolosa competition is part of the circuit of the best choral competitions in Europe: Varna (Bulgaria); Jurmala (Latvia); Maribor (Slovenia); Debrecen (Hungary); Arezzo (Italy) and Tolosa. The winners of these competitions compete the following year in the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing, the pinnacle of universal choral singing, which is held on a rotating basis in each of the above-mentioned cities. Tolosa will host it next year for the sixth time, after the editions of 1994, 2000, 2006, 2011 and 2017. It will take place on 26 October 2025, and the Latvian choir from Riga will be there.
